Iron Man 2 Review + Ip Man 2 Review
This is the first time that I’m going to review 2 movies in a single post!

Iron Man 2~ Perhaps this is the most anticipated movie of the year 2010! On last Monday (26th of April), I went to Mid Valley and bought 4 tickets for Thursday (29th of April). 2 for Iron Man 2 and another 2 for Ip Man 2. Hell yeah~ I’m going to watch 2 movies on the same day!
Okay for Iron Man 2, the actions are not as much as I imagine. Nearly 70% of the whole movie is discussing about Tony Stark’s life. There are only a 4 fighting scenes… The first one is when Anton Vanko a.k.a. Whiplash attacked Tony Stark on the race track, second is when WarMachine tried to stop Iron Man from being a complete lunatic, third is when all of the Droids that Vanko created start attacking Iron Man and the last battle scene is when Vanko vs Iron Man and WarMachine. Well, the last battle is just too short!!! The final battle between Vanko and Iron Man lasted only like 30 seconds… What a complete noob!!
Even Obadiah Stane (Iron Man 1 Villian) lasts longer than Vanko!!!
But because of the awesome graphics… Oh well I am still gotta give it a 4/5… Well, this is all just based on my personal opinion~ ^^
There is a secret ending scene in Iron Man 2. If you want to watch it make sure to wait for the credits to end!

Ip Man 2! Its the only Chinese movie worth watching this year if you asked me. Movies nowadays like Pandora’s Box, Beauty On Duty, Future X-Cops or True Legend sucked to the max!!! Anyway Ip Man 2 is quite good, lots of fighting scenes but the storyline is somehow abit short and just too simple. Ip Man 1 have a better storyline but less fighting scene. But oh well both of them are good enough and worth watching.Anyway if you got play Tekken, you’ll noticed that Twister in Ip Man 2 looks like Steve and always uses B1 for stun combo LOL… *Sorry for the Tekken Off Topic*
I’ll give Ip Man 2 ~ 4/5 also…

and the prequel’s villain sure lasts longer than ivan.

I have watched both the movies but on different days. I think it was a let down in Iron Man 2. The movie talks too much and heading nowhere. The dialogues are quite lame and also the only actor worth mentioning is Mickey Rouke (Whiplash). I think he has the best scene with less talking and extremely menacing. Robert Downey Jr. is still good as Tony Stark aka Iron Man but he didn’t show as much emotion like in Iron Man 1 especially the part when he was captured and strip bare in the cave. The rest of the crew is totally wasted and Nick Fury thingy shouldn’t even be there or at least make the cross-over story a little more better
As for Ip Man 2, expectation was high and it was for the 1st part of the movie. There was plenty of emotion when Ip Man saw Quan becoming vegabond and crazy, despair
when there are no students interested in joining the club, funny and quirky here and there to action frenzy in the market scene and of course the one-on-one between Ip Man and Master Hung (Sammo Hung). However, the 2nd part of the movie started going downhill when it involves the Chinese and British with boxer, Twister showing off his muscular body and strength against the Chinese. It was suppose to be a little like Rocky movie where one get to feel the anxiety, anticipation when Ip Man clashes with Twister for Chinese pride but it feel short and somehow felt hurried especially the training montage. It should have done some Rocky homework in create the atmosphere where we cheer when the bell starts ringing in the ring.
Anyhow, it was a good follow-up from Ip Man 1 success unlike Iron Man 2.
Looking forward to “Incpetion” and hope it will be able to boost this year summer movie.
