Ah, for so long I’ve never updated this blog. Sorry to all readers ya~ Because I’m really busy with work and some other stuffs ^^… Sorry for the slow update. Well, from today onwards, I’m here back =D So no worries! Alot of food updates from Penang! xD

As for now, Let me intro you guys Rou Gu Cha King! This is the first BakKutTeh franchise I saw in Malaysia. Quite special hahaha! The picture above is from Set C, which is the original Bak Kut Teh that comes with the soup… Well just like the normal Bak Kut Teh that we eat outside. It comes with steam rice and chinese tea. The whole thing only costs RM8.90, which is quite cheap.

Here we have Set B, and this one doesn’t have soup. Set B is  dry Bak Kut Teh, and it comes with steam rice and chinese tea as well. Also, the price is the same which is RM8.90.

For all the Set Meals, you can add RM3.50 to exchange your chinese tea into some different drinks. Here I ordered Wu Long Pomelo Tea. (Normal price is RM4.50)

Overall, my personal opinion is… The original one is better because it comes with the soup, I don’t really like dry Bak Kut Teh. The price is cheap only if you order the Set Meals, I’ll continue on with the other menu from Rou Gu Cha King in Part 2.

(To Be Continued)

Hey guys, I just got back from Penang =)

This week I’ll be very very busy~ So… I’ll update starting next week!

Stay tuned guys!

Jun 042010

Caremel Banana @ RM7.20 - Mmm~ Just looking at the picture also know its HouHouSek!! Yummy! Look at those juicy caremel juice on the bananas and on the ice cream~ Simply can’t resist! A must try if you like caremel and banana added up together~ xD…

Banana Walnut @ RM8.20 + Add extra butter RM0.60 – I regret adding extra butter on it, the waffle with the original toppings itself is already good enough. The extra butter just add more fat into my body… =(

Turkey Ham @ RM8.30 (Waffle Sandwiches) – Got bored with the normal sandwiches using bread? Wanna try something new? Try Waffle Sandwiches! The feeling is very special =D ~ Its worth trying!

Fullhouse~ Lifestyle store and cafe. There are currently 3 locations that have this restaurant. Sunway Pyramid, Ampang and Nui Ze Xui @ Ara Damansara (Main branch). Anyway all of the pictures in this post is from Sunway Pyramid branch.

Tomato Bisque with Cognac @ RM10.90 – Cream of tomato, accompanied by lemon grass and shredded crabmeat flavor with cognag. Very very nice!!! HouHouYam! But the price abit pricey tho.

Forest Mushroom Soup @ RM8.90 – Fresh shitake mushroom soup with toasted almonds. Quite good, but same as above, the soup is abit overpriced.

Smooties-Fruities Fish @ RM22.90 – Pan-fried butter fish infused with passion berries fruit reduction and sun-dried tomato. I don’t really recommend this. Why? At the very first few bites, it is indeed nice and tastes good, but the more you taste on it, the weirder it gets. Maybe I’m just not used to eating it.

Grilled New Zealand Lamb Chop @ RM28.90 – Grilled lamb chop, accompanied by mashed potato and steam veggie, topped with herb juice. Quite nice, the insides of the meat is still very juicy.
Seared Atlantic Salmon @ RM26.90 – Atlantic salmon with shitake mushroom, siew pak choy and teriyaki glazed. Overpriced dish if you asked me. Nothing special at all and the portion is too small, cannot even make a 10 year old kid happy with this salmon size. Too small… Too small…

Wok-Sear Chicken Chop @ RM16.90 – Grilled chicken thigh served with mashed potato, daily vegetable and black pepper raisin juice.

Oven Roasted Chicken Tenderloin @ RM18.90 – Roast corn fed chicken tenderloin with shitake mushroom and tomato basil cream. Mmm~ HouHouSek!! The sauce is special, but if don’t like to eat chicken breast, don’t order this.
Mashed Potato @ RM5.90 – My friend love mashed potatoes very much… He ordered two of this!
Vanila + Strawberry Puree @ RM7.90 – Don’t order this! Its a complete waste of money! (It tastes just like McDonald’s strawberry sundae… NoNoNo!! McDonald’s strawberry sundae is waaayyyy better than this!!!)

Sea Coconut @ RM5.90 – Quite nice, but too many ice!!

Jasmine Green Tea with Aloe Vera @ RM5.90 (Left) – But my friend complained no aloe vera inside.
Papaya Milkshake @ RM7.90 (Middle) -
Peppermint Milkshake @ RM7.90 ( Right) -
The cakes at Fullhouse looks nice, but not nice to eat. I’ve tried nearly all of the flavors before, not even one is good.

Notice number 923, Tiramisu Ice Blended Tiramisu… LOL!

Overall… I think that Fullhouse is just a place for people to hang out and chit-chat together. Its not really a place for people who wanna find good food. Most of the food there is just ‘normal’ or above average… But the price is very high for nearly everything.

Not to mention, the cakes there are meant for decoration only… Not nice to eat at all. =(

Kitchen Creatures~ The famous ‘no-frills‘ dining restaurant. No frills means no tax or service charge.
The first thing I saw on the menu that catches my attention was Monster Platter. The name of the dish somehow sounded special~ Notice they did said that the dish feeds two creatures.
Monster Glass @ RM7 (Left and center)- Aiyoyo~ A bit disappointed, thought that the glass might look special because of the name itself. But it came out just a normal big glass. Sad face =(

Limey George @ RM6.80 (Right) – Limey George is actually just Sprite, with some lemon juice and Ribena syrup on the bottom.
Monster Platter @ RM15 – Rwarr~ Monster Platter!! Inside got fried shrimp, calamari rings, fried mushrooms, mini wings and nachos. The menu did said that this dish could serve two creatures. But I do think that the portion is just a bit too small. It only can serve one Domo-kun!!
Monster Grill @ RM39 – Steak, lamb chop, grilled chicken and a 6-inch sausage. Served with an egg, fries and buttered veggies. Again, same thing happened~ The menu said can feed three creatures for this dish, but in reality it does only feed two Domo-Kuns!!!
Sirloin Steak @ RM18 – All steaks served with a choice of brown sauce, garlic butter, mushroom or bbq sauce. My friend picked garlic butter~ He said that it’s HouHouSek!! But he don’t even let me test one tiny bite =(
Seafood Garlic Cream @ RM15 – Creamy garlic herbed sauce with mussels, prawns, fish and squid slices. My another friend is kind enough to let me try~ This one is HouHouSek!! xD
Super Chicken Pepperoni @ RM15 – Mozzarella, cheddar with double chicken pepperoni. Quite nice also, but quite fattening >_< ~ Alot of cheese inside!!

Breeks Cafe is located at IOI Mall, Puchong. The cafe is right beside Seoul Garden, and I think they are linked because both the restaurant shared the same staffs.

Anyway I was alone again, and I ordered Set Meal 2. Which costs RM29.90. It comes with Rib Eye Steak with black pepper or mushroom sauce, Blue Dolphin and Potato Island.

Rib Eye Steak - Overall the steak is pretty normal, nothing special. Abit overcooked… I ordered a medium cooked steak! =(

The sauce is abit too salty, I think the chef was having a bad mood on that day.Potato Island – Quite nice, but very fattening. I did not manage to finish the other half because the cheese was just too much for me to handle. I wanna keep fit~ xD

About the Blue Dolphin, I’m sorry guys I did not manage to take a picture of the drink. But its actually just Sprite with some blue coloured syrup.

Nang me if you liked my post =D

Sam U Claypot~ Located just beside Kafe Strawberry Fields in Petaling Jaya. From the restaurant name itself, I thought that they only offer foods that are served in claypot. But no, I was wrong… They even serve ‘ugly’ chickens! Look at that chicken with no feather on its neck… Very ugly lah!!! Its called Naked Neck Chicken.

Chicken Thigh Rice @ RM7 – Mmm~ I get to taste how ‘naked neck chicken’ tastes like. Quite normal actually, tastes just like normal chicken to me. Did not taste anything special at all. But still good =)

Ipoh Kuew TeowSoup @ RM4.80 – Really very cheap~ For just RM4.80!! Quite delicious somemore. Normal kopitiam price, unlike Old Town White Coffee or PappaRich which is damn expensive.

Chef Special Spare Rib @ RM18 – Very cheap!! Very big portion, the meat is very tender and nice as well. Ying Ker Lou also got this, but way more expensive because the portion is very small.

Assam Seafood @ RM16 – Inside got a lot of prawns, squid and fish slices. Recommended for Assam lovers! Its not that spicy, so even kids can try this dish.

Steamed Egg @ RM8 – Its a very very huge dish… Lol… Normal steamed egg here, nothing special about it.

Plain Porridge @ RM1.20 – Plain porridge~

Hmm~ About this place, its really quite nice because everything is cheap and delicious.

Remember to NANG me =D

Kafe Strawberry Fields is a restaurant that offers Malaysian, Thai and Western cuisine~ The funny thing about this restaurant is they don’t serve any Strawberries at all. The restaurant name is quite misleading lol! They don’t have Strawberry Cakes, Strawberry Juice, Strawberry Shake, Strawberry Smoothies and not even Strawberry fruit itself on the restaurant.
DSC04520
Fisherman Seafood Platter @ RM17.50 – Fried squid, crab sticks, prawns and fish slices served with some baked beans, fries and salad. The prawns size is quite big, a lot of squid also. But the fish is not that nice.
DSC04510
Sizzling Chicken @ RM10.80 – Normally Sizzling Chicken costs about RM13++ on every other restaurants. So I think its quite cheap here.
DSC04516
Thai Pineapple Fried Rice @ RM7.60 – Quite nice, inside got prawns, squids and chicken meat.
DSC04525

Butter Cream Prawn Rice @ RM8.50 – Chinese call this dish ‘lai yao ha fan‘, normally this dish is not spicy at all. But at this restaurant, I think maybe the chef was EMO on that day or they really serve this dish spicy. Inside got alot of cili padi, the whole dish is very very spicy.
DSC04531
Tropical Punch @ RM5.20
DSC04530
Special Jumbo Juice Of The Day @ RM7.50 -
DSC04513
Lime Juice @ RM4.60
DSC04509

Overall, the food there is cheap. The drinks just tasted normal but the price is slightly higher than normal.
