During Hari Raya break, my friends and I decided to go to Malacca for a one-day-trip for food. So, we pack our sunglasses and mini fans, hop into the car and start speeding on the high way for delicious food. Not to forget, there are scenery and historic places to visit too.

So, have you ever queue up for food under the sun for a long time just because it’s famous and delicious? I have and so is the people over here.

Yes, it is the most famous Chicken rice ball in Jonker Street, Malacca. Most of the people line up for this because it’s known as the most delicious and famous among all chicken rice ball restaurants. Fortunately, it wasn’t me to wait under the sun for it, my friends did. They are such gentle man and kind. Haha. That’s is why I borrowed my mini fan for them because it’s friggin’ hot. The chicken rice ball restaurant is small and old. It’s located at the start of Jonker Street which is right after the bridge.

In the meantime, I was across the road at San Shu Gong which is direct translation for “3rd Uncle Grandfather” ? Haha. Well, it means your father’s third uncle (your grandfather’s 3rd brother). It is well known for its chili sauce in my family. Try their Prawn chilli sauce, it’s delicious.

I didn’t try it but you will have to wait 20 minutes for your cute waffles because its machine is too slow.

After waiting for a long time, we finally get a place for the chicken rice balls. We ordered rice balls (of course), and half a chicken. As for drinks, we all ordered Barley water.

The chicken rice balls were okay. I would say they taste like normal chicken rice. But what is unique is that they made it in a ball shape. Also, it gives me a feeling of eating sushi without the Salmon…or Unagi. Haha. But it’s really nice compared to other shops.

The chicken was okay. I would say it wasn’t the best. Comparing with chicken in Kuala Lumpur, theirs will be bad. I mean, look at it. It’s not well presented and there were full of bones. It’s like every piece of chicken has bones. I mean, they could have just detach the bones before chopping them into pieces. Well, I’m just saying, it could be better. But, it’s worth trying. (It’s like that every where in Malacca).

Also, you must eat the chicken rice balls with chili. Their chili is so spicy that my tongue gets numb after a few minutes.

After that, we went for sight seeing. There were lots of places to go to, but we were so tired of walking, we almost drop dead in the car. So my friend drove around to look at the beach. Unfortunately, the beach was almost gone because apparently, Malacca needs more land, so there were lots of sand and muds to cover the sea.

After a while, we went to a shop which is located near the shopping mall, Dataran Pahlawan for their famous cake. the cake is known as the ‘thousand layer cake’. It was delicious. I really like it. The restaurant is very nice and a lot of non-local people go try their cakes.

Original taste wasn’t that great for me. I really prefer green tea and chocolate. Anyways, it comes with tea/coffee for only RM 3 as you order their cakes. It’s located at the shop lots opposite Dataran Pahlawan. The shop is called Nadeje Patisserie. The address is Lot No. UB051, 052 & 053, Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall, Jln Merdeka, 75000 Bandar Hilir Melaka. You can call 06-284 3469.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to spend time at night for their famous Jonker Street ‘pasar malam’ because my friend had to get back early. So, if you wanted a half day trip in Malacca, I suggest that you try all these food because it’s really cheap and delicious. Also, better not go during Hari Raya because most of the shops are closed including the Menara taming Sari, the famous boat and other food shops.

There’s also an assam laksa shop which is very famous. Even Ho Chiak advertised for them last year. There were lotsa of food there. Whenever we pass by a shop or a stall, people buy food there and the crowd is crazy! However, if you see less people near the shop, I think it doesn’t really taste good. (Same goes to the Fish Paste Mee stall – which I tried and it sux). So, hope you would try these food when you reach Malacca.

Hmm… First post about food in HouHouSek.Net, well this is going to be exciting for me. w00t~!!!

It was a fine Saturday morning, nearing lunch time and we haven’t had anything to eat yet. We were playing Heroes of Newerth (HoN) in the morning in D-Net. Using our personal BETA accounts~

To those who don’t know what is HoN~ No worries, I’ll blog about it in this few days~

So we headed to Chatroom Cafe that is located just on the 2nd floor of D-Net Cyber Cafe, The food there were actually quite affordable. The sets are priced from RM7 onwards. And there are alot of students there, mainly girls =X~

Let’s cut the crap and go on with the FOOD~

Hmm~ Yummy yummy side dishes ~ The price is really affordable, Really! It only costs RM3.50 per dish~ On the top left there is Fried Cuttle Fish, Then Fried Wanton and Fried Scallop on the bottom~ Note that Fried Scallop is actually not in the menu~ You need to ask the waitress for it. Alot of “hidden” menu is in this restaurant lol… Need to ask waitress one~

RM3.50 Side Dishes

Well let’s go on with the main dishes~ For me, I have ordered Nyonya Baked Chicken Rice which cost RM6.50 and its the only dish that needed you to wait for approximately 20minutes for it… It serves with an egg and a “splat” of salad lol… A “splat” of salad~ lol… If you get what i mean lah =P Blek

RM6.50 Nyonya Baked Chicken Rice

Yaneki have ordered Butter Chicken Rice that is in the Set Menu which costs RM7 all together with a Green Tea… Kinda same with Nyonya Baked Chicken Rice, Just different chicken only, It serves with an egg and a “splat” of salad also~

RM5.50 Butter Chicken Rice

Then Terry ordered Red Sauce Spaghetti, This guy arr… Go where also order spaghetti… He not sien, i also sien lah always see he eat Spaghetti… His dish is abit cheaper than mine, RM5.50 only… Kinda cheap for a spaghetti dish… Lol

RM5.50 Red Sauce Spaghetti

Last but not least, The Special Meat Balls… Well, It’s not me that added the word “Special” to it, It’s the dish own name~ Well why special? Because it’s like Stephen Chow’s Movie – God Of Cookery, Inside got 1 dish called Explosive Pissing Beef Balls… Well this is it! But this one is served with PORK instead of BEEF. RM4 for a bowl of Special Meat Balls. Not that expensive heh?

RM4 Special Meat Ball

I don’t have a video of how the juices spread out, But i have a pic… Well i know you can’t see how the juices spread out in this picture, Thats why i’ve provided a video from youtube that shows you the original Explosive Pissing Beef Balls below the picture~ Enjoy!!

Inside Special Meat Ball

Last but not least, The drinks~ All of us have ordered the Explosion Bubble Tea (RM3.50)

Well the reason that 3 of us ordered the same drink is because that it’s nice and delicious loh~ HouHouYam!! Inside got mini pudding cubes one~  It’s something like Pudding Bubble Tea in a Taiwanese Restaurant in The Gardens… But i forget the name of the drink and the name of the restaurant also, But nevermind =)~ I’ll Post about it next time…
