Sorry for the slow update  guys, I have some slight internet connection problems for the past few days. I can’t online since Friday night, my internet connection just came back a few hours ago.

Today while I was waiting for my friends at Mid Valley, I went to eat at Go-Gung alone because I’ve read a lot of reviews from other food bloggers saying that this place is nice to eat with affordable prices.

DSC03893
Kim Chi Jji Gae @ RM25 – Traditional Korean spicy Kimchi soup in hot clay pot served with some basic Korean cuisine ‘must have’ side dishes and a bowl of rice.

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Korean food. Because I like to eat MEAT a lot, I don’t know why Korean food got so much vegetable and only a few pieces of meat. Some more charge me RM25… Really expensive if you asked me. I don’t really recommend because you can eat this same thing in the food court for about RM15 only… Less RM10, but don’t have those side dishes lah… The side dishes are refillable by the way.

Yes I know Korean food do serve MEAT dishes as well. But the price is really very high. A few SLICES of beef can cost you RM40… And no, its not WAGYU beef!

DSC03892

I’m the only customer there during lunch time today. Its 1.25PM and I’m the only customer in the whole restaurant. The food there tastes normal, nothing special about it. The price is a bit expensive than usual. Service? Quite bad because I’m the only customer there, and when I asked for the bill, I need to wait for about 10minutes. Decoration is quite good actually. Clean or not? Well not a lot of customer… Of course clean lah!

Food: 6/10 (Normal)

Price : 6/10 (Quite expensive actually)

Service : 6/10

Decoration : 7/10

Cleanliness : 8/10

Overall : 6.5/10

Ok, time to post about food again after Ironman 2 and Ipman 2 reviews. This time, I’m about to post about pancakes!

I ate at PHOP yesterday with my girlfriend for breakfast, lunch and dinner on the same day. Sounds crazy right? And the chef there is so generous! He gave us free desserts! Oh Thank You~~~
DSC03268
Lisbon @ RM23.50 – Basically its a chicken fillet with prawns, some oyster mushrooms, mozzarella cheese and chopped pineapples. Served with two pieces of thin pancake, some lettuce, tomato and special homemade PHOP orange marmalade sauce.
DSC03267
Havana @ RM22.50 – Two spaghetti pancakes with fish and prawns in creamy tomato sauce. Although I personally don’t really like having pancakes being made as a spaghetti but the tomato sauce is really nice! I prefer pancakes being…. Well, being normal pancakes instead of being a pancake spaghetti lol~
DSC03865
San Francisco @ RM20.50 – FISH FISH FISH!!! Thick and juicy dory fish fillet!! With tomato and tartar sauce~! Remember to squeeze the lemon on the fish fillet before eating.

I nearly forgot, it serves with 2 ‘popiah like’ pancakes, mash potatoes and a small chopped tomato.

*Don’t know what popiah means? Click HERE*
DSC03858
Rancher’s smokey chicken burger @ RM20.50 – Pancake burger anyone? Inside the burger got grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, chicken bacon, hashbrowns and two pineapple slices on both pancakes.
DSC01063
California @ RM22.50 – Two huge sausages, two pieces of beef salami, hashbrown and grilled mozzarella pancakes!! Yummy yummy~
DSC01065
*Ahem* Look what I did with the food~ HAHAHA!!
DSC03867
PHOP  Blitzes – Whoa!! This one is really damn nice! HouHouSek! But sorry guys, I forgot the price for it. But its somewhere around RM15-20 if my memory doesn’t fail me lol… Ok this beauty is actually a thin pancake and inside got whipped cheese, black and golden raisins, dried pineapples and apricots. Oh oh ~ and a scoop of vanila ice cream with strawberry syrup~ YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY!
DSC03270
This is the free desserts that I’ve been saying about. Look at those mini pancakes~ So cute right? It’s yummy too!

Please help me nang if you liked my post~ =D

Remember my previous post? The post about Shanghai 10~ Well, my taiko, Uncle Terry dulan coz i never invite him on that day. So yesterday I bring him to Crystal Jade to try some La Mian and Soup Dumplings over here.
DSC03477

Steamed Pork Dumpling (RM8.80 – 4pcs) – Seriously, no matter everywhere i go, every restaurant’s Steamed Pork Dumplings seems to be the same… Except for Din Tai Fung which have crab meat, alot more expensive as well.

DSC03461

My taiko, Terry~ Ordered Set C (RM20.80), which includes Soup La Mian with Beef Brisket in Chili Oil (Picture above), Cold Beancurd with Preserved Egg, Deep Fried Spring Rolls 2pcs and Chilled Water Chestnut Cream with Pomelo.
DSC03464

Deep Fried Spring Rolls 2pcs, comes together with Set C. Very crispy but oily as well.

Chilled Water Chestnut Cream with Pomelo (Set C)
DSC03475
I’ve ordered Soup La Mian Served with Crispy Chicken Wing @ RM12, not worth the price if you asked me. Very normal soup la mian with very normal fried chicken wings LOL!
DSC03465
La Mian with White Tempura Prawn @ RM12 – Again, a very normal soup la mian with some very normal fried prawns.
DSC03463
La Mian with Dried Shrimp and Ccalion (RM10) – Looks like a normal dish, but somehow quite nice to eat. But i do recommend taking those Set Meals if you wanna eat at this restaurant.
DSC03479
Finally, to the desserts! Aloe Vera with Omanthus and Honey (RM8) is really nice~ But it’s not inside the normal menu, you have to ask for the Crystal Jade Restaurant Menu, the waitress said that Crystal Jade – La Mian Xiao Long Bao Restaurant Menu is different from the normal Crystal Jade Restaurant, so even the dessert menu is different. Look at both the pictures below and you get what i mean.
DSC03482
Mango Cream with Sago and Pomelo @ RM7 – From Crystal Jade Restaurant Menu.

Mango Cream with Sago and Pomelo @ Rm7 – From Crystal Jade – La Mian Xiao Long Bao Restaurant Menu. Hey, both the price are the same but looks so different! Even the taste is different as well, So remember ask for the different menu!!!

THIS IS THE ONLY PICTURE THAT I MANAGED TO TAKE… =(

Because all of my friends took the first bite too fast already, I don’t even have time to ask them for permission for me to take pictures. T___T

But I did took the picture of their desserts as well, but looks ugly coz they already “korek-korek” everywhere.

Anyway the picture above is the dessert I ate on that day, It’s called Mix Fruit LoLo and it’s only costs you RM6.50… Very nice if you’re thirsty ^o^..

I’ll try to update more tomorrow. =)

@_@ Finding some cheap food to eat at Mid Valley? Don’t want to go to the food court? Then i think you should go to The Spaghetti Farm if you’re a spaghetti lover.

DSC03109

Carbonara with turkey ham ~ Rm9.8

DSC03105 FishFarm @ RM11.8

Every set is served with either soup or soft drink. I’ve chosen soup because I don’t really like soft drink… Lolz

DSC03100

Desert~ Red Berries pannacotta @ RM4.8… The desert not bad not bad~

Erm seriously The Spaghetti Farm’s spaghetti is not that good, but it’s cheap… If you really like spaghetti that is HouHouSek~ I recommend Italiannies..

chocolate

Weeeee~ Yummy Yummy Chocolate!!

It’s really crowded there today. And alot of females @__@… From small little girls that Pedobear likes to sexy teenagers with miniskirt, so many females~ And oh i forgot, got alot of auntie and old lady as well… And they are all very aggressive when it comes to chocolate!

So many pushing around when there is a “lelong” at some booths. Especially at booths that provides free chocolate sample, really alot of auntie came rushing in to have a taste on those samples.

DSC03942 See what i mean now? Try to spot a boy, a man, uncle or an old man… Cannot right? See~ I told you alot of girls and auntie came to the chocolate fair. Nearly 80% of the people going there are females lol~

They really liked chocolate alot. I saw alot of auntie kept on testing the same chocolate over and over again but never buy one… They just test test test~ Then eat eat eat ~ Nom Nom Nom Nom Nom… Then they say “not nice larh” then they left.

Q : How to see which booth got free chocolate samples to eat or cheap bargains?

A : You see alot of auntie infront of the booth lol!

DSC03924

Check this out~ You can actually leave any picture or message on the chocolate! Sounds cool right? A great gift for valentines day i guess.

DSC03935

There are even durian chocolate sold here, rarely sees one in supermarket tho… Quite nice =D ~

DSC03934

Well if you don’t like durian, maybe you will like strawberries? Hehe~ Very tasty!! Tastes abit sour =D

DSC03950

This is what I’ve bought from Chocolate Fair 2010. Yah i know~ Alot of people kept on asking me why buy 5 Hershey sticks~ It’s a secret =X

DSC03936

Well if you don’t like Chocolate because its too sweet or you scare fat, maybe you should try out these “Healthy Chocolates”… Well they are low in sugar and fat. But not that good to eat tho =X

Dec 292009

Went to Mid Valley a few days ago to watch Sherlock Homes, But damn… All of the tickets have been sold out. So i thought that if i buy Gold Class tickets i still have a chance, But KNN… even the Gold Class tickets also been sold out! People nowadays so RICH huh!!

Maybe I’m just out of luck. After 30minutes of queuing up for the tickets, I’m abit exhausted and tired. Out of a sudden i wanted to eat Japanese food. So i went to Kiku-Zakura which is situated on the same floor as the cinema.

DSC02650 Kimuchi Ramen @ RM23 ~ A must try for ramen lovers, although maybe the price may have scared you, but still it’s very nice and worth a try ^^~

DSC02657 Katsu Curry Rice @ RM28 ~ An above than average curry rice i guess, it tasted very good but just abit too pricy. But the service there was quite good, they refilled the green tea so fast that my cup was never empty. And they serve hot towels before and after meals.

DSC02661 Seafood Dama @ RM23 ~ This is something special you won’t see everyday. Well maybe in Malaysia, It’s the first time I’ve tried out something like this in a Japanese Restaurant in Malaysia. Well Sakae Sush, Sushi Zanmai, Oh Sushi, Yo! Sushi and Sushi King doesn’t serve this dish don’t they?

Sushi Zanmai

Oct 212009

As you all know, this is a famous sushi restaurant that brings in the best ambiance and good quality sushi into Malaysia (compared to Sake Sushi and Sushi King). However, I was quite disappointed today when I went to Sushi Zanmai at The Gardens…

Actually, I plan to eat at home since it’s recession and I decided to do my parents a favor which is not spend money. But, my dad “fat hao” and wants to go out to eat. So he suggested Sushi Zanmai. I will never object when it comes to eating Sushi Zanmai because I think it’s really good and the service is acceptable (free flow of green tea…WOOHOO!). Every time I go out with my girlfriends, we will end up eating lunch/dinner at Sushi Zanmai, god knows why.

Anyways, let me show you some pictures of the sushi that I ate last Friday with my boi.

Here are some of my favorites! :D However, today, I am very disappointed because I found that The Garden’s outlet is serving smaller potion, and I mean it. It’s like “shuk shui” already. Come on, recession already, you still want to make the portion smaller. Also, the waiter told us next month, they are changing the menu, adding and taking some off. Additionally, the price will INCREASE! Oh my god, there goes my pocket money. As soon as our orders come, three of us (mum, dad and me) had this shocked look on our face, while looking at those small small sushi. It wasn’t like that when I went last month.

Those delicious sushi that you see in the picture are from Pyramid outlet. So, if you are considering about eating Sushi Zanmai, better go to Sunway Pyramid outlet. The manager of The Gardens is very bad. I’ve noticed that he has been stereotyping a lot. He serves the ang mohs (westerners) first and very polite to them. For example, he will purposely walk to the ang moh’s table and ask them if everything is ok or how they find the food, ok or not and stuffs like that. For us, locals, he care shits about us. Really. It hasn’t been once, it has been a lot of times because I go very often.

My point is, Sushi Zanmai’s service has drop down from rate 10 to 3, in my opinion tho. Some of you find that it’ll not be a big problem. But to me, it is a very big problem because they really cut down a lot in terms of quality of food and service.

And this is…

Pudding Milk Tea @ RM7.30This is Pudding Milk Tea @ RM7.30, Basically it’s the same thing, but much more expensive here in Fong Lye. Somemore no Black Tapioca Pearls (Zhan Zhu *Cantonese*).

Mix Seafood and Meat Set Meal @ RM29.80Ooo… A mini steam boat~  Cute! But expensive leh… Mix Seafood and Meat Set Meal (RM29.80)… The mix seafood are just some crab, lala, squid, fish paste and prawn. Seriously there are not much MEAT in this MEAT SET MEAL… As you can see, Of most it are just Vegetables and Tofu on the hot pan…

Prawn Roll Rice Set Meal @ RM23.80Prawn Roll Rice Set Meal @ RM23.80… Quite nice lah but really expensive loh… Paying RM20++ just to eat 3 prawn roll… Somemore not 100% prawn… Added with so many vegetable and pork… =(

Sweet Potato Ball @ RM5.30

This is the only nice dish i would recommend, Really HouHouSekSweet Potato Balls @ RM5.30… Yes yes yes~~~ I know many of you guys would say “WTF?? RM5.30 for just a few of those potato balls? I pay RM2 in PASAR MALAM also get more than that lahhh…”, Yaya i agree with you guys with that, Pasar Malam do have people who sell these Sweet Potato Balls too… But don’t know why… They can’t make it so nice like these in Fong Lye… Maybe this is the only special dish they have? Nowonder they put this on the 1st page of their menu and the code is #01…
