Kuro Goma Maguro @ RM45 – Tuna lovers must try xD~ I’m not sure about you guys, but as for me~ This dish is awesome! Basically it’s smoked tuna with some black sesame and peanut butter sauce… Yes! Peanut butter sauce, you heard that right! =D

Wagyu Saikoro Steak @ RM48 – The texture of the meat is really soft and juicy inside~ Yum yum!! Best if you got order some Sake as well~

Negima @ RM15 – Slices of chicken with some leeks on a stick! Tastes like Chinese ‘Char Siew‘ but using Chicken meat instead of pork.

Soft Shell Crab Karaage @ RM16 – Deep fried crispy soft shell crab~ Their serving of the soft shell crab is a bit larger than the other restaurants. I guess because of it’s size, its not crispy enough when they deep fried it.

Ishiyaki Goya Campuru @ RM18 – Panfry bitter gourd with straw mushroom and egg top with crispy… I don’t like bitter gourd~ So I don’t have much comment here… LOL!!

Chawanmushi @ RM6

Mango Pudding @ RM6 – Very Milky Taste!

Kita No Zen is a Japanese restaurant opened in Mid Valley Gardens on 22th of September if I am not wrong. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of Mid Valley Gardens, right in between Nokia and Sony Centre.

I wanted to try the restaurant on the day it opened. But on the first day they opened the restaurant, before I can even get into the shop I smell an awful fishy smell when I reach infront of the Nokia shop. The smell was so awful, me and my friends were forced to leave the area at once. We don’t even dare to step into the restaurant.

A few days ago, I went to Mid Valley to watch Sammy’s Adventures : The Secret Passage with my friends and when dinner time we got bored with all the restaurants in Mid Valley. So we decided to try Kita No Zen.

Again, the awful fishy smell was there, but this time it is not as much as the first time we went there. Surprisingly once we step in our foot into the restaurant, the awful smell was gone. Hmmm~

Salmon Maki @ RM6 - If you liked salmon, you should try this. The salmon they’re serving is kinda fresh if you compare with Sushi King.

Salmon Sushi (left) and Kaori-Hako Kani (right) @ RM3 PER PIECE – Okay, this is very pricey indeed. RM3 per piece! Although it may taste better than any regular sushi but it might just be my imagination since it is so expensive!!

Teppanyaki Zen @ RM36 – Beef steak set~ Served with miso soup, garlic rice, chawanmushi, some fruits and vegetables. My friend complained that the chawanmushi is too salty, but well… Depends on individuallah~ The rest is quite nice.
Miso Zuwaigani Ramen @ RM23.80 - Ramen in miso soup with  snow crab, some eggs, seaweeds, beansprouts and corns hidden inside the soup. Don’t know why the ramen here tastes just like MAGGI =____________=”"”

Spicy Kaki Miso Ramen @ RM16.80 – Spicy miso soup ramen with oysters, the oysters is raw and quite fresh also. Although it is spicy miso soup, but it is not spicy at all… LOL…

Spicy Miso Ramen @ RM14.80 – Spicy miso ramen with grilled chicken~ Same as above, the difference is just one served with oysters and the other served with grilled chicken.

Hotate Don @ RM18 – Scallop with omelette on rice, quite delicious but too dry… I think if they serve with sauce then it will be better.

Conclusion – Kita No Zen is just another normal but expensive japanese restaurant. I think that Sushi Zanmai is by far the most delicious japanese restaurant with REASONABLE price. No wonder Sushi Zanmai @ One Utama and Mid Valley are always so crowded at dinner time that you need to line up for at least 10minutes to get seated.

Last saturday, my mum’s friend gave us a box of mooncake. We were so happy to see mooncakes by Hilton. So at night, we opened it to eat together. Guess what? You’ll never believe what is ON the mooncake. Fermented mooncake full with yeast or mold or whatever. It was so disgusting, I nearly vomit on my mum (exaggerate la..haha)

So my mum informed her friend so that she check her moon cakes before she eats them. Then she said she’ll call Hilton hotel to screw them. At least try to get a new box of moon cakes. Unbelievable, they said it was our fault. When my mum’s friend bought the moon cakes at Midvalley, the sales person did not mention anything about consuming within two weeks. The paper is inside the box and is properly sealed. So, it is impossible for my mum’s friend to know about it. I mean, imagine you buy a present for your friend, it is wrapped properly, you open it or not? Of course you wont ma.

In the end, my mum’s friend couldn’t get a new box. So, I decided to show all of you how irresponsible Hilton could get. From my friend’s experience, he said “Tai Thong would change a new box of moon cakes for me”. Yeah man! So Hilton so famous and big, they not willing to change?! Such a shame! So, be careful when you buy moon cakes. Such a big company, but use evil tactics to sell off all their moon cakes like this. At least they could apologize and tell the sales person off. Like wtf weii?

You see for yourself, how disgusting it looks.

nicely wrapped (we opened it, of coz)

see properly, six moon cakes got mold

Description paper hidden inside the last drawer of the box

Mold!!!!

yucks, disgusting!

mold all over the mooncake, even the sides

Disgusting rite? Feel like using the knife and clear of the thing…Omg! Imagine I cut it into half and the insides got mold as well. Yuckz! Spread the word ppl, Hilton is so irresponsible!!! They didn’t even apologize and blame us for not consuming fast. Pfft!

Sorry for the slow update  guys, I have some slight internet connection problems for the past few days. I can’t online since Friday night, my internet connection just came back a few hours ago.

Today while I was waiting for my friends at Mid Valley, I went to eat at Go-Gung alone because I’ve read a lot of reviews from other food bloggers saying that this place is nice to eat with affordable prices.

Kim Chi Jji Gae @ RM25 – Traditional Korean spicy Kimchi soup in hot clay pot served with some basic Korean cuisine ‘must have’ side dishes and a bowl of rice.

To be honest, I’m not a big fan of Korean food. Because I like to eat MEAT a lot, I don’t know why Korean food got so much vegetable and only a few pieces of meat. Some more charge me RM25… Really expensive if you asked me. I don’t really recommend because you can eat this same thing in the food court for about RM15 only… Less RM10, but don’t have those side dishes lah… The side dishes are refillable by the way.

Yes I know Korean food do serve MEAT dishes as well. But the price is really very high. A few SLICES of beef can cost you RM40… And no, its not WAGYU beef!

I’m the only customer there during lunch time today. Its 1.25PM and I’m the only customer in the whole restaurant. The food there tastes normal, nothing special about it. The price is a bit expensive than usual. Service? Quite bad because I’m the only customer there, and when I asked for the bill, I need to wait for about 10minutes. Decoration is quite good actually. Clean or not? Well not a lot of customer… Of course clean lah!

Ok, time to post about food again after Ironman 2 and Ipman 2 reviews. This time, I’m about to post about pancakes!

Havana @ RM22.50 – Two spaghetti pancakes with fish and prawns in creamy tomato sauce. Although I personally don’t really like having pancakes being made as a spaghetti but the tomato sauce is really nice! I prefer pancakes being…. Well, being normal pancakes instead of being a pancake spaghetti lol~
DSC03865
San Francisco @ RM20.50 – FISH FISH FISH!!! Thick and juicy dory fish fillet!! With tomato and tartar sauce~! Remember to squeeze the lemon on the fish fillet before eating.

I nearly forgot, it serves with 2 ‘popiah like’ pancakes, mash potatoes and a small chopped tomato.

*Don’t know what popiah means? Click HERE*

Rancher’s smokey chicken burger @ RM20.50 – Pancake burger anyone? Inside the burger got grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, chicken bacon, hashbrowns and two pineapple slices on both pancakes.

PHOP  Blitzes – Whoa!! This one is really damn nice! HouHouSek! But sorry guys, I forgot the price for it. But its somewhere around RM15-20 if my memory doesn’t fail me lol… Ok this beauty is actually a thin pancake and inside got whipped cheese, black and golden raisins, dried pineapples and apricots.
